Practicing as a Pharmacist has taught me skills to carry forward to accelerate my career in Computer Science. Leading the pharmacy to strive for excellence and to work as a team based operation allows for us to deliver exceptional patient care and health outcomes. I accomplish this by ensuring that clear and efficient communications can be established between the staff and to our patients. By managing, leading, and communicating to the highest standard I will have a positive in pack to the team-based career of Computer Science. Excited by my continuing education at UBC to pursue Computer Science, I am motivated to learn and develop skills on a continual basis. In anticipation to joining the Fall 2021 BCS ICS program, I have taken it upon myself to complete UBC CPSC110, CPSC121, as well as various online coding courses to better prepare myself and to gain a competitive advantage..
2018 - Present
Designing systems and methods to increase pharmacy efficiency and to improve patient adherence and safety. Such measures include, enforcing non-mandatory procedures such as reverse narcotic counts to cross check accuracy of dispensed medications with the perpetual inventory system. Developed templates for part-fill accountability logs for narcotics medication to reduce human error in data-entry by allowing quick checks of dosing and supply to be given to patients. Development of prescription paper templates to meet requirements of College of Pharmacist. This template adds information required by regulatory bodies onto prescriptions as the current Pharmacy Software does not allow for such additions.
Providing accurate and fast prescription processing with a specialization in dispensing daily witness ingestion medication to the downtown east side community for opiate use disorder management program.
General pharmacy tasks: Receiving orders, medication management reviews, counselling, device demonstrations and collaboration with other healthcare workers.
2019 - Present
Owl Drugs at the heart of the downtown east side located at the corner of east hastings and main street has allowed me to work closely with different physicians and clinics that specialized in mental health and addictions and has allowed me to develop a greater understanding of those particular field of work.
Quick to adapt to various pharmacy dispensing software.
Skills Experienced in Opioid Agonist Program [Methadone, Kadian, Suboxone]
Strong understanding of small business operations run different compared to larger pharmacy chains. Understanding the various challenges that may differ and how to overcome them.
2012 - 2019
Leadership Role at Saint John Ambulance my main role was to act as a regular member of SJA as well as lead a group of volunteers by acting as the liaison between the organization and various external event organizers. The objective of the role was the ensure that requesting event organizers have their first aid attendant needs met while ensuring that the event is suitable for our members in terms of interest, availability, skills and equipment.
Organizing large community of individuals to work collectively as a team to establish clear communication and chain of command for large public gathering and events. This ensures that in a mass casualty event, members are paired with appropriate members of the team to be able to triage patients to ensure the public safety.

Excited to enter the field of computer science, my mission is to develop a deep learning of computer science and the potential it has in its real world application development. In a mission to understand more about underlying technical challenges and mechanism behind the code that makes the modern world tick. I hope to be able to incorporate this knowledge to the healthcare realm
2014 - 2018
University of British Columbia
Interest in health sciences and being a part of the healthcare ecosystem, drove me to pursure a career in Pharmacy in which my daily work allows me to use the knowledge gained over my education to improve patient health and outcomes.
2012 - 2014
University of British Columbia
Prior to entering pharmacy I had participated in Honours of Chemistry before entering the pharmacy program. The two years of chemistry allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of mechanisms behind drugs and their interactions with the human body.
